Hi and welcome SDAN! Sorry I can't help you identify that flower. I just returned from vacationing in Glacier National Park. You live in a very beautiful place - I'm sure you know that! All of the wildflowers blooming there was overwhelming. The weather was perfect. It was almost 104 here today and very humid. I wouldn't want to trade winters though!

Well I've looked in all my wildflower books but, of course, they're all British ones so not much help. Sad I'm still trying to find it on the internet for you but no luck so far I'm afraid.

i was googling for purple wild american flowers.... but no luck Very Happy

whatever it is... i am sure it looked nicer a few weeks before when purple flowers replaced the seed pods.

i would keep it if it was in my garden.

I found several really good sites with loads of pictures of Montana wildflowers and weeds but none of them had a picture of your plant.

You might email support@Montana.Plant-Life.org ....they have a great website for wildflowers Montana.Plant-Life.org
and see if you can send them a picture to ID.
