I just planted this, this year. So the bloom is still fairly small. It will get better with age:-)

The aphids were destroying mine, then I read that spraying the crap out of them with the water hose would knock the little buggers right off of the flower. It worked! It took awhile for the plant to recover, I just cut off all the damages leaves etc. but it is doing much better now:-)

Very pretty color..I used to have some but gave up planting in the ground because I hated digging in the fall with so many other things I dig up.

I am not crazy about having to work on old flower beds that are filled with grass and weeds etc. I do think I will stay away from plants/bulbs that have to be dug up and brought inside to winter. <g>

Beautiful Dahlia, the closest I can come to having one is the quilted wall hanging I made myself several years ago....but the plants tempt me every year.

I like the black planter behind the Dahlia, I buy several of them after Halloween to use. I have them all over the yard and I have a green one to plant Oxalis in each spring.
