Oh, where do I start. First off organic foods arent full of chemicals, like pesticides and fertilizers, drugs or hormones. They have higher nutritional value.
heres a good article written by a nutritionist--> http://www.grinningplanet.com/2005/12-27/health-benefits-of-organic-food-article.htm

In order to get completely organic foods you need to make sure you look for the USDA stamp of "100% organic." These foods are required to be just that-- 100% organic. Foods with the stamp "made with organic ingredients" or "all-natural" are probably still made with preservatives and other chemicals.

I buy all organic beef. Did you know that the beef you buy in the grocery stores has additives in it and FOOD COLORING to make it look nice to buy? The beef we buy is hormone , additive and dye free. The farm I buy from also does lamb and pork that is additive free.

Some doctors believe that a lot of hyper activity and health problems come from all the additives that american food companies put it the food to make it look nicer and have a longer shelf life.

In germany additives are not allowed to be processed food. No dyes ...nothing! That is the way to go.

I asked my friend this same question, he grows almost all of his own food. Heres his reply;
"We don't save a dime once you figure the time input factor.
But, we know what we are eating is good to go, I grab veggies right up out of the garden and eat them...no worries.
Every Man/Woman and child in the USA has enough of the pesticide Carbaryl (sp) SEVIN, in their system, to Kill or severly sicken someone from a third world nation...
We have eaten that much of this pesticide from store bought and chemically produced fruits and veggies over the years!!

Organic fertilizers...
They feed the soil, which in turn feeds your plants...
a garden done year after year with commercial chemical fertilzers, become completely devoid of any microbial activity, overtime, it is lifeless and only as good as vermiculite....and the only way to produce anything after it gets like that...is the addition of compost/manure...so, why not just feed your garden what it needs to feed your plants...continuously

or you can spray chemicals on your food and have them suck it right up...to settle in your organs and cause ya to die young..."
