HI;
You guys helped me with picking out floor and wall colors last month for my living room. Much progress has been made, and things are looking great!
Here are a couple Photos:
OK Here comes todays question / decision that needs to be made. The walls in the foyer still need to be painted (where there is currently wall paper.
See a overview shot here:
OK in this area where the plant goes, I am considering painting the wall white, floor to celing you can see where there is a little while paint in there right now.
Then the rest of the foyer:
The floor in the foyer:
Here are our thoughts that I am looking for opinions on. I am looking for opinions on painting the planter area white, where you see the white paint right now (just the area 2 feet or so on each wall, where there is while paint now, those 2 walls would be painted top to bottom all white satin).
I am also trying to figure out what to paint the rest of the foyer, top choices are either, deep red that matches the rest of the living room or the milk chocolate color the matches the hall way and stairs.
Any suggestions on the color for the foyer walls?
Would another bold color looks weird in there??? Say deep blue?
Thanks so much!
Jamie

Gosh you made big changes to your home already Jamie and it's looking good. I think I would steer away from white paint if it was up to me. I'd go for a magnolia or soft cream instead as white can be rather harsh. If you then painted the foyer milk chocolate to match the hallway and stairs it should all tie together very nicely.

HI;
Thanks for your response. Would you paint the planter area a cream color and then paint the rest of the foyer the chocolate color?
Thanks
Jamie

Jaime, I wouldn't pull another dark color into the mix. I would go with the soft cream (NOT white...it would be too stark with all the dark color that you have now) that Eileen mentioned. I think you would begin to get the feeling of being closed in if you use anymore dark color. The paint job looks great, and I can tell that you have really been busy!

I thought a tan color would match the flooring. but after Eileen mentioned a cream color that wouldn't look so bad either. So either tan or a cream color.

The planter itself could easily be a darker colour Jamie as long as the wall behind it was kept neutral. Whatever you decide to do I know it's going to look great. I'm already keen to see photogrphs once it's all painted up.

I wonder if you could do the planter itself the same color as the living room walls and then do the cream color instead of the white behind it? Not sure just a thought, I like the darker color idea for the planter itself though.
