baby pond fish, that is.
My pond filter/sprayer was needing to be cleaned. we haven't used a net to catch the leaves in the fall. So its been really bad on the bottom. Also we been seeing a few garden snakes. one yesterday was actually in the pond. Those we don't want in. They go after my fish. I used a net to get him out. I started using a net to scoop up the dead leaves until we noticed a few baby fish mixed in. Then we emptied the pond half way. We counted 12 large fish and several babies. We're still finishing up the pond this morning. Some picts may be blurry, it was hard to get good picts with the sun shining and the flash went off a few times.
Here are a group of our fish:

Here's a baby to the left of the orange fish

a few other babies:

we have 7-8 of these little fellows also:

My pond isn't the cleanest but I'm trying to keep it all natural so the fish have natural food like algae and bugs to eat. Something must be working right since they have reproduced this year. Its so exciting to see the baby fish, all of differant sizes, that have been born at differant times. Can't wait till these little ones get bigger to see what
their actually color will be.

Cool!
My friend grew water hyacinths in her pond. Kept it very clean naturally. She had frogs move in too.

Once we fill the pond back up, I think I'll put in a few pond ferns.

I just hope that no more snakes get into the pond. Hopefully, if any do then those cute little babies will find somewhere safe to hide.
