Well, I went on a plant shopping spree today. I got a couple of cacti, lots of seeds (parsley, chives, oregano, basil, catnip, and sunflowers), lavendar, and a parlor palm. I've never had a palm before, and I'm not sure what they require as far as light and water are concerned. The instructions on the plant tag weren't very clear. I just had to have it though, because it fits in so well with my decor which is decidedly asian. I repotted it in an all purpose soil with good drainage, but I was wondering if anyone has any advice on caring for it.

I have a feeling they are one of those houseplants that thrives on a certain level of neglect, like aspidestras. I think it is the usual...not near drafty windows or radiators, and I don't think they like direct scorching sunlight.
