Man we need rain bad. The robins haven't been able to get worms out of the dry rock hard soil and they are looking ragged. They have grey breats now instead of red. You see them walking around the yard looking for bugs and things to eat.

Oh, the poor things. Maybe you should give them a hand and loosen some dirt? I was out digging earlier, and found a plethora of big, fat worms.

Give them some raisins. Plump them up in warm water then toss them out where you see the birds looking for food.

Water the yard really good, or at least an area.

Here too...after a cooler and wetter than average summer early on, we're having a drought now. It's been weeks since we've had rain. My trees/shrubs/perennials are all limp with browning leaves. I'm filling my bird baths daily so they have fresh water. I'll have to learn from my Native American friends how to do a rain dance!
