He does move from this corner from time to time, honest. After his debut, with the Hosta's, i decided he deserved to be in front. There's another hosta behind him, next to the dog trail.

Nice looking dog. I bet he is a big help with your gardening. I know Chance helps me. dooley

Oh in his younger day maybe, but now he has a much more relaxed outlook about life (he's about twelve), he can still keep those rabbits away mind you.

Chance is just about six. But she keeps the birds and cats out of the yard. I wish she would work on the grasshoppers. I saw her following a bug tonight with her nose. She didn't hurt it, just followed it down the sidewalk. Dogs are sure funny sometimes. We had a beagle once that lived in the backyard but had a doggie door into the basement to sleep. We had a cat in the basement and they got along pretty good. The cat caught mice in the fall and one day had them lined up in a row on the basement floor. Some weren't quite ready to have for dinner. They kept moving out of the row. The dog was there watching them and whenever one got out of the row she took a paw and nudged it back. It was so funny. dooley

Beagles and cats seem to get along very well, but if Spot or Shasta (another beagle about the same age, i'll get her to pose), even noticed the mice, they'd probably have a quick snack. So the cats, won't show them.
