Someone recently posted a picture that I will try to describe. The top of it looked like a huge coneflower. And (laugh) it almost looked like a giant ear of corn. Rolling Eyes OK if you are still with me, does anyone remember who posted the picture. And what was it? And I would like to see it again!

What colour was the flower?...or was it a group of flowers on a stem? Did it grow from a clump or was it sort of a bushy plant with flowers scattered over the branches?

The picture was showing mostly just the top part, so I couldn't tell if it was growing on a stem, was a bushy plant or what. It was yellow!

I have the name of the plant - Acorn Banksia (Banksia prionotes). It is orange and silver, but the picture looked yellow!!! Neutral Now does this information look familiar to anyone?? If so, can you post your picture again, please.

No that's not it...I described it to a gardener friend and she said it sounds like Acorn Banksia. I remember it was larger around than the pics that Sjoerd posted. Toni, thanks so much for your willingness to help. Wink

No, but the flower itself was about that size.Maybe the person that posted it will come along and read this. Then again, maybe that person isn't on the Stew any longer! Rolling Eyes
