We have a farm around the corner from us that has a lama that keeps getting loose. He likes to eat flowers....and guess who's yard he was coming into tonight? I was just glad I was outside and seen him running down the road toward my front flower bed..I chased him out of the front and he went in the pergola area and then all of a sudden he started staring at me so I ducked behind a small blue spruce. We were playing peek-a-boo. He took a taste of the lilac shrubs and kept staring at me. In the meantime my small cairn terrier is barking like crazy at this huge thing..no doubt trying to figure out what it was...When he came in the yard again the dog was going to go right at him...I was just worried he would bite him or kick the small dog...My husband came out and chased him into another yard and shortly they came to get him. The lady that owns him says he likes ladies...because of the perfume..I had no perfume on ...maybe the sweat from working outside on a hot day inticed him...LOL I am just glad he is gone and no flowers were harmed...this happened before only a month ago...I wish he would take another route..
The funny thing is I could of had a very close picture of him...I had my camera on my shoulder strap but I just wanted him out of my yard and didn't think about it until he was on the way home..

So glad he didn't wreck your garden Sherry. I can just imagine what he could munch his way through in the space of just a few minutes.  Maybe his owners should make sure that he's behind llama proof fencing so that he can't stray any more.

eileen...I wish they would use anything except the rope that he chews through all the time...I can't figure out why they would want to chase him down the road. I was told from the builder of our home that one day he was out grazing on the mustard that was growing before lawn was planted here/

Yea, he likes the 'homemade' perfume... 'Sweat and Grit'.LOL You would think the owners could figure some way to keep him IN.

I'm glad he only munched a bit. And here I was, thinking a llama would be nice to have around. I think I'll think again.

Sure a llama would be handy if you needed someone carry your pack over the mountains (75lb max). If you can keep it out of the garden, they can be entertaining. They sort of act like goats, but they can spit twenty feet, and it stinks.
Other than that they really could make a fun pet. If you only have one or two they get bored and lonely fast, so you have to find some sort of llama game to play. Or they run off and eat the neighbors garden.

Maybe someday you can look back and chuckle about Bob the llama.  Atleast he knows where the prettiest yard on the street is.
Seriously though, maybe you should talk to the owners and let them know they need to do something better about Bob. I had to do it with a neighbor about their dog and they fixed the problem.

It sounds like you got off easy.
What is in the minds of it's owners not to be sure that the beast is secure. It seems to me that if folks want to take on keeping such a pet that they have the responsibility to keep it secure.
I think that I would be more angry than amazed though, if I were in your shoes...especially since this is not the first time.
Luckily from this distance, I can just be amazed.
