|
I have been watching these 2 baby doves every day. Today they were sitting out on a limb by themselves away from the nest. I think they'll be leaving any day now.
Then they started to move around.
That same little one went to a higher branch.

They are so cute. Does look like they'll be leaving the nest soon. Good photos, Petunia.

We have doves nesting every year in our yard. Each year, I see some fledglings on the ground. Each year, I find a pile of feathers under a tree, or bush. Feral cats. My neighbor feeds them. I always figure, the feral cats got the fledglings.

ANOTHER UPDATE:
The babies did take off on their own. But now it seems the mother is back and is laying on the nest again. Maybe she'll have more babies. This has been so fun and interesting to watch.

Well, guess what. We have new babies again for atleast the second time this year. I just could see acouple of little beaks poking out so I can only get picts when the mom is out on a food hunt. And then I have to be very careul so not to disturb them. this is exciting. she's been laying up there preparing her nest all this time (I've been watchin)And finally I get to take more picts of these little doves.
