F A L L

I know I'm not ready for this yet. We've had a really late start into spring because of late frost.
It seems like we haven't even had much of a summer here. News here says that Traverse City (45 minute drive from us) only had 1 day of 90 degree weather all summer. I really was hoping for a longer summer as far as weather goes. For any of those needing rain, we did get 15-20 minute hard rain very early this morning. BUT I'm just not ready for fall.
How about you all, anyone ready for FALL yet?

Several years ago, we were up by Alpena in mid Oct. I would have thought the highs would be in the 50's. But everyday was 85 or better.

That would be nice if that could be repeated again C.K. atleast for the garden sake. But alas I'm in doubt of that.

I'm so NOT ready for autumn yet! Sad I know it's coming, I can feel it's breath, but I just don't want it for at least another two months. Autumn brings winter, and winter is always way too long, cold and dark.

No 'cause I'm still waiting for summer to arrive!! It's already seemed like autumn here for the last couple of months. The only difference is that the trees still have their green leaves.

I understand all you from texas-you've had 100 degr temps for so long. Around here our last frost was like last of may to the first of june. I couldn't get my garden till late. I was hoping because of that-that we'd have a longer summer, but it doesn't look that way.

We have been in Fall for almost a month now. The birches are the last to bloom and the first to drop their leaves. Our drives are covered with leaves, the grass is all brown, the rowen trees have already gone thru red leave stage and are now brown, but they do have the bright red berries! We had our first light frost a few nights ago. The nights are 6-7C now or 43-45F. days are only in the 50's or 10-13C. But this is the Arctic.

I just hope my veggies can hold out for another month. Then we might be home free.

NNNNOOOOO......winter will be right on her heals....There are signs all over our area that fall is coming...the cooler nights have caused maple leaves to turn and fall...some trees are bare already...At this rate there won't be any leaves on the trees for the foliage nuts that flock to Vermont to see pretty leaves.

Bring Autumn on I don't mind it one bit. Just don't mention it to the average Swede, they hate to lose the summer!
