I just saw this topic today. I have Birds and Blooms, Backyard Living and Better Homes and Gardens delivered by mail. At our library, we have a recycle bin for used magazines and anyone is free to leave their back issues. The library patrons may purchase the used magazines for 10 cents each and the money goes toward book purchases. Dooley

I like to look through a magazine called Country. They have picture articles from all over the US. One of the nicest things about it is that there are no ads in it. It is funded totally by subscription.

Backyard Living is my current favorite. Second favorite would have to be Birds and Blooms.

I also enjoy Carvers Magazine. It's for wood carvers and they put free patterns in it. Birds and Blooms is put out by the same magazine that does Country.

Any painting mag, and Mary Englebreit's. The ones Mrs. Monarch lists all sound wonderful though! I don't subscribe to any, but if I find a place like the one mentioned that recycles them, I might just do that. I still have a high stack of Spin Off from when I used to be obsessed with wool spinning.

There is a Dunn Brothers coffee shop nearby that started a book and magazine swap like that.
The Herb Quarterly that I pick up at Borders Books and Spin Off that comes in the mail are the only ones I read any more.
All the gardening magazines I let drop since most were for parts of the country with growing conditions that in no way resembled my yard.
Critterpainter, whenever you decide to get rid of the Spin Off mags, let me know and I will pay postage.

I love Smithsonian, always filled with interesting historical articles. That and Consumer Reports are the only ones we get because hubby likes the engineering tests they do on various products. In dentist offices, etc. I pick up those house-n-home type magazines with pictures of lush gardens on them to see what someone else did with their greenspace.

I love any magazines that are about decorating, nature or do it yourself. And any gardening magazine, but my favorite is Canadian Gardener.
