omgggggggg want want want!!! dooley, have you seen the size of the greenhouse??
must have taken a lot of hard work, you are obviously dedicated.Very well done!!
i just going to sit in the corner and sulk for a while, until my other half gets me a greenhouse like yours

Er, hate to make it even worse, but that is only one of three greenhouses, and of course there is a thirty foot by 15 foot polytunnel too.

MB, sorry to have not replied before, we went out for the afternoon. If it is not too late, then think of a dry stone wall which has fallen over and that is one way to use you slabs. The other is to stand them up and create a set of crevices.

Do you know, I think looking at that greenhouse makes me happy with my small one. Think of all the seeds I would have to plant to fill one, let alone three and a poly tunnel. I think I have about all or more than I can handle. I would have liked them when I had more energy to get things done. DR is rebelling at all the projects I have had him doing. Dooley

Hey people, thanks for all the input, spent about 7 hours yesterday and built most of it. Dug for around an hour so i had a massive hole and got rid of about 85% of the rocks. Built 2 parts of the rockery as im doing 3 semi-circles with the biggest one in the middle. Im fairly happy with it but my auntie kinda took over and showed me how to do it so we now have something like a rock garden/raised rock bed but i'm happy. Will put a few more rocks and gravel in there and the plants shall go in. Fingers crossed I get rid of the last of the rocks on the last bit of it and all the plants go. Will try and get some pics for you all on Wednesday evening if the weather is not terrible.

Hey people,
Just wanted to say a BIG thankyou as the rockery is all done and may I say it looks great, far better than I had hoped. The final details were put on today (the flowers, rocks on top and gravel) with help from my girlfriend.
However I'm not 100% sure if it is actually a proper rockery, more of a rockery/rock bed hybrid. Anyway, looks great and i'm EXTREMELY happy with it, will post pictures as soon as possible.

sounds lovely, cant wait to see the pics and so what if it doesnt look like a proper rockery?? its all your own work and unique to your garden. Well done!!

Define proper rockery!. You are creating a. somewhere for a certain type of plant to grow, which needs sun and fast draining soil, with cool roots under rocks and little competition from more agressive species and b somewhere which fits in with you garden. If you have done that then who is to criticise.

well yes, im pleased with it so I suppose it's ok. still waiting for the pics.
Any idea how many times a day I should water it?
and i assume if it rains for a short while that will take the place of one 'watering'!?

Sorry missed your question. I tend to 'puddle' them in and then leave them to get on with it. 'Puddling' is where you dig the hole for the plant, fill it full of water, let it drain and then put in the plant, finally watering the plant to settle the soil round roots, but of course you knew that!

Thanks for the reply.
So you only ever water it once at the start and never again? Or did I miss your point? - I've been watering once a day. hmmm - should I just stop watering them now?
Too late for the puddling as they are already in; i'll try it next time.
