Here are just two of the exploding boes I've made lately. A small gift can be put inside to make a special hand-made pressie.

The completed box. This one has two layers and is lidded.

It's different layers.

A different style. This one folds up and doesn't have a lid.

You can make these 'boxes' in many different shapes, sizes and layers.

Eileen, your work is gorgeous and exact. How long have you been making the boxes? Those make lovely gifts just on their own too.

Toni I started out making boxes last year (I think I posted piccies of them) but they were all 'ordinary' shaped ones. I have gradually expanded into a variety of shapes and sizes and have so much fun making them. I'm now going to experiment with sticking the flowery ones onto the fronts of cards to give them a totally different dimension. Fingers crossed they turn out OK.

I remember seeing pictures of the boxes last year but I don't think you posted the exploding ones then.
I would think the flower one on a card would be fantastic, they would require special 'packing' to get them thru the postal service...or would they be hand delivered only?

I like these a lot Eils. Quirky boxes are always appealing and you have done a great job making these ones. Where did you get the idea?

They are wonderful, all of them! Very Happy I especially like the "flower" one, but they're all like little gems. Lucky recipients, they must feel truly special.

I only started to make the exploding boxes a couple of months ago Toni as I saw someone making them at a craft show that I went to with Ian and Duncan. I make clear acetate boxes to put them in which can then be used as stands to display them. I don't post them out as they would be easily damaged so tend to hand deliver them to people.

Gardengater once I've made all the ones I need to for people who've asked for them and for Christmas I will try to do a step by step series of piccies for you.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments it spurs me on to make more different designs. Very Happy

Those are awesome. What a wonderful gift the box would be, but to put a little surprise in them, would be the icing on the cake! Great talent!
