Found this growing in a clearing in the forest. I have never seen anything like it!

It looks like a Gentiana of some kind, very similar to my Gentiana makinoi. I found this link: Ontario Wildflowers. Do you think it's a Narrow-leaved Gentian, Gentiana linearis?

I don't know the name of it but I really like the color and the way the blooms are placed on the plant. Thanks for sharing it. Wannabe

That looks very similar Droopy! The only difference I can see is the leaf size.
And thanks for the link for Ontario wildflowers too...it's bookmarked now.

OK, after much research, I've ID'd this plant as Gentiana Clausa aka Bottle Gentian. Thanks Droopy for heading me in the right direction.
I'm not exactly sure what the white plant is Peppersage - they grow wild here. My guess would be Fleabane.

I tried to find a photo of the open bloom, but with little success. Does it open more, do you think, or will it stay almost closed? I think you need to go for another walk, Netty. Very Happy
