We call them brambles here Netty but I think Calin may be right. If the stems are thorny, then they are wild blackberries.

No thorns Eileen. We have brambles here too but these aren't them. I can't seem to find this ID anywhere!

Netty, I'm wondering if you found an Actaea rubra, Red Baneberry. They're poisonous. Check out this link:

I'm running out of places too Eileen!
Droopy-I don't think this is red Baneberry, but I have seen it nearby. I didn't realize they were poisonous so Thank you!
Eileen-I don't think it is the thornless Blackberry either. The berries are actually clusters of many round berries, not attached together like raspberries are. And the leaves are almost as big as my hand. I'll have to go back and get another photo I think.

I don't think their Mulberry's either. The american mulberry has a very longness to it. its not round. but the leaves do look right.

I have never seen that berry before. not the individual berries making it look like a whole berry. I'm stumped.

Just a thought, maybe take some to the local college to the biology department, or horticulture. They might know.

Could it be a hybrid of some sort do you think? I really haven't got any more ideas and I've shown it to other gardeners and they don't know what it is either - this is soooo frustrating. I hate being stumped but I most definately am. Sad
