I found this growing on the river's edge climbing up some Bullrushes. The bloom is a ball of smaller blooms and it smells nice for the first second and then becomes nasty!

That's a really cool bloom! I've never seen anything like that before.

The flowers remind me of my Chocolate Vine, whose proper name escapes me for the present.

Chocolate Vine aka Akebia quinata. A nice looking plant, but not my mystery plant I'm afraid.

Ta, annoying when a plant name totally escapes one. I have seen these flowers before somewhere too and that is annoying that I cannot place them.

I am not sure, but IMHO, it looks like it should belong to the pea family. My corkscrew vine, vigna caracalla, has leaves like that, and while the flowers are bigger, they form a cluster like it too. The corkscrew vine is really fragrant. Your vine is very pretty, can you check for seeds.

I've never seen anything like that, but it sure is pretty. I hope you get a name to go with it.
