No, not a cheesy B movie, but my carrots! Do you blame stoney soil, to much goodness in the ground, or just plain cheeky seeds?

This old boy is sitting with his legs crossed.

Hmmm....this chap is rather fresh!

These boys are more like octopuses...octopi....octocarrots...

And the gangs all here!

Goodness you do have some naughty carrots there. Shocked
I have heard that they will split and curve like than when meeting rocks in the soil, but is your soil really that rocky?

You have some very interesting carrots there, EJ. I wouldn't stop laughing all the while I was fixing them. Lovely color.

What beauties, EJ
--Do you live near a nuclear power station by any chance? Laughing Just kidding.

We had some like that when we inadvertantly planted a row of carrots right across a spot where we had had manure ripening two years before.

I have noticed forking when there are no stones or richness...I let the ground become too compact.

Great fotos!

Hehehehe, love your replies. Glad I made you all giggle. They are funny lads aren't they. The soil is quite stoney, the children have been collecting stones everytime they visit as we have cobble paths at the end of the plots now! Also, I do put down masses of home made compost, although I can't remember putting any there, especially as the rest of the crop are lovely and straight....this lot were just being cheeky I think.
