Good afternoon and good evening
I have a small pussy willow tree that I received as a gift from hubby.Had it in the house over winter and come spring I put it outside.Now my question is with winter coming soon do I have to do anything for it,and will I get catkins once all the leaves fall off.Thank you Chinabeach Stew Face 1

Unless you get some extremely bad weather conditions, it should be alright.
I'd be willing to bet that it will give you fuzzy little things come early spring next year.

I have a pussy willow in my own garden here in Scotland Chinabeach and it withstands our winters really well. We get hard frosts that penetrate deep into the soil but it's still going strong. They are very hardy trees and difficult to kill off. Good luck with yours. Very Happy

We have a large pussywillow in a barrel on our deck. Every fall,we put a few inches of cedar bark mulch on the surface of its growing medium. It has survived ten years of bad winter weather, and never fails to present us with plenty of catekins each year. (Zone 5, high desert)

I'm not sure what part of ontario you are in, but pussy willows are pretty hardy plants, and should do fine if you are not too far north.

I don't have a zone map handy right now but you can easily check the planting zones recomend4ed for pussy willow and check it against the zone you live in.

I'm in the northeast so I'd say it's a non issue.
