I have a branch of a rose of sharon that I broke off the main plant about a month ago. I just stuck it in a pot of potting soil on my deck and it is only a foot tall and has 2 beautiful blooms and a lot of buds on it. It also has bunches of roots. Before I stuck it in the pot I removes all the flowers and buds and every other leaf. Now its going nuts.

Oh dear Dave, can't see the photo. Sounds as if you have really got 'green fingers'.

What lovely flowers!! I love the way they darken as you look further inside. I hope it continues to grow well for you because it's a real beauty. Stew Face 2

what a beautiful plant,I love the flowers, I saw one on a local garden center but hubby said we have to wait till next year see how much room we have as they can grow quite large and I have a container garden at the moment.

I have about six of them in that color along the fence. I keep them trimed so they don't get too tall.Thats how I get all my starts) I also have 3 purple colored Rose of Sharon. Two are about 4' and one is 6'.

I love that color, do you know the variety, I sure would like to find one.

It is my namesake plant.
