The Grampa Ott Morning Glories are blooming more prolifically than they ever did early in this growing season. This is really a very deep purple color.
About 3 years ago I filled a large planter box with a packet of assorted wildflower seeds and the Cosmos have been coming back every year...in the planter, in the mulch on the ground next to the planter, in other planters and in the mulch path. Very healthy seeds.
Probably the last of the white Coneflowers for the year, the plants are loosing energy.
A purple Zinnia out in the front bed.
Milkweed, they got a late start in the garden but next year they should be filled out and larger.
Hyacinth Bean Vine, neither one I planted grew very large but they are still blooming. I think the heat and drought stunted their growth.
The Canna are really liking the cooler weather and Mother Natures water supply helped them too. There are several that have started blooming.

That blue Morning Glory is breathtaking color and I love the Hyacinth vine too. You can tell I'm a purple girl.

Wow great colors going on there. I like your canna with the hint of yellow edging. A purple zinna, I think thats one I never saw. And that morning glory, I like that shade as it blends into the middle. Thanks for sharing your flowers with us.

Oooh, lovely! I could eat them, they look so delicious, but then I'd probably be chased off your yard. That canna is gorgeous, and so is the morning glory and the rest of your blooms.

What a wonderful pallet of colours Toni. Just as well I don't live nearer to you or I might be tempted to 'transplant' a few into my own garden.

I really didn't expect to find any pretty blooms left since everything is slowing down and fading fast.
Sjoerd, our average first frost is Nov 22, so probably sometime in Nov everything will start dying back into dormancy.

Gorgeous blooms Toni! The frost hit most of mine the other night.
I don't think I've ever seen a purple Zinnia...very nice.

Ferry-Morse.com carries two shades of purple Zinnias. I found mine at an Elliots Hardware last year and forgot I had them so they didn't get a fair chance to grow and bloom. Next year I will know where the seeds are...I hope.

Beautiful, Toni. I love the morning glories. I thought August's heat killed mine but they are making a comeback! Yay!
