A man posted this picture taken on the Texas Tech University campus, where the Will Rogers statue is wrapped in red crepe paper (prior to home football games). In the foreground is a plant, the name of which I do not know. Many people have asked me to find out what it is. Can somebody have a look & identify it? Thanks!

It could be an Iresine, but I'm not positive:
