The county health dept sets up a drive thru flu clinic at the fairgrounds and you don't even have to get out of the car! 10 minutes after I got there, I was on my way home. And I was 10th in line. What a great idea! They did it last year for the first time and it was so successful they did it again this year. They use it as practice if they ever have to give mass immunizations in case of an emergency. We were the first county in the state last year to do it, and this year several neighboring counties are doing it too.

dr and I had our flu shots at the grocery store two weeks ago. It was fast too. We went after work on Saturday and there was no one in line at that time. My arm wasn't even sore after. dooley

what a great idea, I had my flu shot yesterday and they gave it my hubby also i went for a different shot and they grabbed us. We have a walk in clinic between 8.30 and 12.30 on a saturday morning as well. It makes me feel a little poorly but this year its been better than normal just unfortunately thanks to my other shot I spent all morning throwing up on and off. Id much rather feel a bit grotty for a couple of days than get flu, though i know it doesnt protect from it completely just the previous years main strain.

I get mine free at the hospital I volunteer at..Theda Clark Regional Medical Center..I have been trying to keep myself healthy for Wednesday when I get my flu shot. It seems like everyone in the stores are coughing and then handing you your change..I would like the drive thru, no papers to fill out beforehand?

Around here they are even recommending them for the young. I want to say all children but I am not positive. I have volunteered since 1980 and I have been getting them every year because I am exposed more than some at the hospital. I am 59. I think I heard this year they want every one to get one...no shortages here expected like some years. That is really funny that yours is only for over 65. Years ago it was only for the older individuals and the weak but it has changed a lot.

I arranged for the County Health Department to come to the tire store and vaccinate all of us! The tire store paid for the employee and the employee paid for his family if they wanted one. This year our cost was $26. The nurse from the health department told us that if we knew someone who needed the flu shot but couldn't afford it they would give them one for free Razz He told us that EVERYONE should be vaccinated, young and old alike Wink

My husband gets free 'flu shots because he is diabetic and our oldest lad gets them too as he's asthmatic. Me ..... nope I would have to pay if I wanted one. Sad

Medicare Part B paid for ours. I think it depends on where you get them. I know the county health department gives them for a cheaper rate and some insurance pays for them. If you are on the state or county medical insurance they are free. dooley

Gene and I got our flu shots at the Doctors office. You just walk in and take your turn. We didn't have to wait and Medicare paid for ours. Wannabe
