Greetings - my son won a 3 inch potted Maiden Hair Fern
at the local carnival this last weekend - he was so proud to give his mom the prize. Wish I had a dime for every one of these I've killed over the years.
Besides the obvious humidity issue - has anyone found
any secrets to keeping these little jewels alive?
Right now it's in a garden window, West facing, but
the window does not get direct hot sun as there is shade cloth over the patio.
Thank you for any ideas.

I've managed to murder a few of these delicate looking ferns in my time too. Sad Here is a website that gives you lots of information about growing them. Good luck!!!

They are lovely ferns, congratulations to your son who won it. Very Happy I've given up on them inside, so I can't give you any tips. I have two in the garden, they are doing well.

I pulled up a picture of this as I had never seen one before. It is a gorgeous fern but I have not seen any growing here.
I hope that you can get it to grow for you. If you need humidity for it. A trick that worked for our housekeeper at the hospital that kept our plants growing was to put them in the bottom of the shower and let the misty warm water mist over them for like 15-20 minutes several times a week. HTH
