|
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon ground Nutmeg
Cream butter and brown sugar, add boiling water and mix well, add eggs and mix well. Add flour, baking soda and nutmeg...mix well.
Chill 30 minutes or until ready to roll and cut.
Roll the dough out and cut with favorite cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees F until firm but not browned.
Can be eaten immediately, can be decorated but I feel that takes away from the taste of the cookie. Can be frozen, if there are any left. And can be baked in November then stored in airtight container until Christmas...they taste even better after ageing a while.

now they sound fabulous, I have to give them a go soon, I do not think though they will last long enough to age nicely! I would have to hide them somehwere and set a reminder in my phone for a month and keep them away from my hubby.
