can anyone please identify this plant. Our geese, poultry and pigs will not touch them. white trumpet flowers on okra shaped recepticles, leaves similar to courgette, fruits grow seperate to flowers and are size of kiwi fruits but waxy green covered with sharp spikes.plant is 3-4 feet high. Think it might of come from exotic fruit, seeds and nuts brought to garden from local supermarket.

thanks for all responses. the dangers of this plant are frightening and would not expect it to grow in the cold north east of britain. Have gathered all seed heads (there were a lot of them on the number of plants we had growing) and have got them soaking in bleach before incinerating them. Have spoken to the environmental department and they are aware of only one other outbreak of this plant and it was about 50 miles south of us. Have had to take all these precautions due to working the land in training young people. Your concern is much appreciated by all who work with me on this programme.
please watch out for some photos of our land and animals in near future
