I finally got a pic of some house finches at the feeder.
The one in the center is a house finch, the other 2 are goldfinches in winter plummage.

Those finches certainly seem to be enjoying the food you leave out for them. I'm spending a fair amount on bird food at the moment as I feel so sorry for them trying to find anything to eat that isn't frozen or covered in snow.

I only feed black sunfloer seeds mixed with some cracked corn. The sunflower seeds runs about $24 for a 50 lb bag.One 50 lb bag of corn will last all winter.

I feed my birds on sunflower hearts, peanuts, nyjer seeds and fat balls/fat cakes. Now and then I'll cut up an apple for them too as the blackbirds, in particular, enjoy a bit of fruit.
My birthday is coming up soon so I've asked Ian and the kids to buy me food for my little feathered friends as I love to see them every day.

Great picture Capt. I haven't been able to take any good pictures of the birds here. They have been very nervous since the hawk discovered their feeding spot.

Lovely birds. We feed our birds too, with oats, sunflower seeds and fat balls.
