Hello Gardenstewers! I'm sad to say that we sold our house and moved upstate for my husbands job 
The closing on the house is soon.
I was wondering if I dig up some bulbs (Amaryllis and daylillie) would they survive? If so, should I store them or plant them?
I'm leaving the rest of the plants so the new owners can enjoy them as much as I did.

I've no idea what kind of climate you've got DaphDaph, but if I were you I'd give it a shot. Everything's frozen here, but I'm certain I would be able to dig out some of our stuff if need be.

I'd go for it too DaphDaph. I think I would probably put the Day lilies in pots.
I don't know too much about Amaryllis though.

I am sure the Amaryllis will survive up north...but primarily as an indoor plant. The day lilly wiull too, I believe...but to be on the safe side, I'd lift them, dry them and store them cool and dark until may or so next year.
The Amaryllis you might coax into blooming if you potter it and put it on a window sill in your new home.

Boy I'd sure do it!!! I dug a lot of stuff when we sold our house. My real estate agent wasn't too thrilled but some of those plants were heirlooms!!! After we moved I remembered some lilies that I forgot to dig  Makes me sick to think about it now

I would give it a try.
Almost impossible to kill daylillies, they will be fine and the Amaryllis, as long as they don't freeze should do okay as well.
Can you take a small snip of some other favorites....... I would and have.

I had some things in pots when we first put our house up for sale...that way they didn't notice a few more sitting there when they drove by. I brought a lot but I had 3 acres and many plants that I wish I could of brought but didn't want to be a hog. I wish I would of brought more because she isn't a gardener and the perennials are on their own and the flower beds are a mess. I had bulbs that were already up and not bloomed yet and it didn't bother them at all. I did bring a lot of daylilys in pots too...I know you are moved by now and I hope you got to bring some plants with you.
