I'm very curious about the healing properties of honey.
One of our customers is a bee keeper and brings us raw honey occasionally. He is very interesting to listen to! I had no idea how valuable honey was  Tell me what you know or where I can find a good book on the medicinal uses for honey.

I've heard quite a bit of lore, as I have a neighbor who has an apiary, but one thing I know for sure is that if you get honey that's gathered near your home, in the long haul your allergy problems from grasses and such will go away.
It also has antibacterial properties, and has a long and glorious tradition of being used on wounds (ick. I hate being sticky!)
. But neverevereverever give it to babies. They have no resistance to the botulinium spores that can be present (and don't effect most adults)

You have probably heard about drinking warm honey to help relieve congestion when you have a cold or the flu.
There is also a substance called Propolis in the bee hives that is an anti-bacterial. The bees manufacture it to keep the larva healthy while they are in the combs.
It is available in most health food stores in tincture form and is a great anti-bacterial for humans.
I buy a combination tincture of Propolis and Myrrh, dilute it with vodka and use it on cuts, sores, bug bites, etc. You can also take it internally for sinus troubles.

Never give any kind of honey to babies until they are over 2 years old. honey can have botolism in it.

I've just been hearing about honey. So I did some checking online. a mixture of honey and cinnamon is suppose to cure a list of things from colds to arthritis, heart disease, hearing lose, longevity, aches and pains, stomach aches, cholesterol.

Honey is a very good beauty product also if you apply directly on your face & wash it off after 30 minutes then see the difference it will give good freshness on your face.

Honey can be used for curing the following disease that are Arthritis,Hair loss,Bladder Infections,Toothache,Cholesterol,Colds,Infertility,Upset stomach.

I know that eating honey that is made in the area you live, does wonders for allergey sufferers. SFA College is not far from me, and the students that come from all over the US, keep the bee keepers in business. I live in the Pineywoods of deep east Texas and the pine trees are torture to those with allergies. I eat the local honey, rather than buy off the shelfs. And I think it is better than store bought.

I learned something recently about honey, it was on "The Today Show" a segment about how to tell when foods gone bad,or how long to keep it and it turns out honey is the only food source that never goes bad, ever! now how about that?
