I got a Veseys catalog today. I never should have opened it. I found several things I MUST have! LOL
Hosta "White Feather"
Habenaria radiata - Egret Flowers I've never seen them before! They are really neat-look like birds in flight!
Double Oriental Lily "Miss Lucy"
Double Clematis-Crystail Fountain and Empress
Crocosmia masonorum

A great Canadian company! http://www.veseys.com/

Anyone find anything they MUST have this year?

OO Netty what great choices!!! What a pity they don't ship to anywhere but America or Canada though. Sad
My MUST HAVE for this year is a weeping willow for the side of my pond. But as usual I'll probably come home with lots more than just the one tree. Embarassed

Yep, we want Hosta "Blue Mouse Ears" and hosta "Praying Hands". Maybe a "Bill Brincka" too, if we can find it. I'll probably discover lots of "must-haves" when I go to visit our gardening hero in Molde.

Thanks for the info. I love the egret flower...says it's a bog plant and that will be perfect for in my pond!

I was looking at the page with the White Feather Hosta I want and was trying to decide if I wanted to get the Hosta Collection instead. It has 1 White Feather Hosta, 1 Tokudama Flavocircinalis, and 1 Blue Mouse Ears. Since they are offering $25.00 off a $50 order I was thinking I should get the collection Rolling Eyes
I had plans of expanding one of my Hosta beds this year anyway Smile

That's a very good deal, Netty! The Tokudamas are pretty hostas, about medium sized, and the little one takes no room at all.

I have been avoiding opening my catalogues....I always find way too much and I think I want to just pick up what is at the nursery instead of ordering this year.

I forgot to mention that I really want to visit that daylily farm I was at last summer. It is so beautiful with everything blooming and I have to find room for at least one or two of them.

I've already worn out my catalogues and have taken to dreaming about my gardens. Your choices sound terrific, Netty, especially the Egret flower.

I've been going thru my catalogs. I think I would like to try those primeroses. But there's just too many pretty flowers to pick from. I'm planning on moving some of my taller plants and put them along the sides of our drive, so flowers greet one when coming up the drive. There's sooo much yard work to be done this year as I have an open house to put on. I'm also looking for a jade plant for a house plant. Anyone know of the best place and price to get one??

I've seen some nice houseplants at Lowes if you have one near you.

oh well,
so many things i'd love to have. but nothing really a must-have.
lucky me, have collected way too many seeds for the limited number of pots i have.
but, slowly and surely... i will plant them all.
also... sometimes i bump into something i haven't thought about on this forum and another closer to me (romanian) and i exchange bulbs, seeds, roots...
for my garden... i'd like to get some helleborus (love these plants). don't have any, planted some seeds of 2 kinds...and nothing springing up yet. also, will take a long time to bloom.
also would love some sedum and very low growing perennials as i have mainly focused on taller growing plants.
maybe some cool flowering shrubs like rhododendron, daphne, hebe, and the like.
So yes, it'd be nice to have at least these when spring comes Mr. Green
