That's what my girls have created, or at least I think so. What's this:

It's a lovely snow lady with a warm heart of course:

This is how our entrance area looks now:

I really, really like the snow lanterns:

I think my girls are very creative, and so kind to have made these lanterns for me. I asked them to, since I like them so much.

Thanks! Very Happy They're so easy to make, too. Just a bunch of snowballs on top of each other, and one in the bottom to hold the candles.

The lights are candles. The one in the snow-lady is a tea-candle, and the ones in the lanterns are normal candle sticks left over from the Christmas chandelier.

Congratulations to your girls Droopy. Those creations are lovely. I would never have thought of putting lights in the snow. Very effective Smile

Oh wow, I love those lanterns! Too bad my snow is all gone. Actually, I'm sure we will get more so I'll get the kids to make some. Great idea Droopy!

Heyyyyy...look at that! You and your girls make the nicest snow art. They were really sweet to do that for you.
Those lanterns look really snazzy along your driveway. And...what a luminous idea to place a light in the heart of the snowlady. Who's 'bright' idea was that, anyway?
Is there such a high wall along your driveway...or is that where you used the snowblower?
Thanks for sending these great fotos--they show how creative you and your girls are.
BTW...did they make any snow angels for you as well? Wink

Very welcoming! I've made ice lanterns but never ones from snow. You're a lucky Mom!

Thank you for liking our snow art. Very Happy We've made lanterns like that for as long as both I and my mother can remember, so I guess it's been a way of illuminating a dark winter's night. I have to check this out, I think.

Sjoerd, the snow man lantern is Ida's idea. She thought it up last winter, and I love it. The wall along the walk is about 40 cm tall, including the snow, so it's far from a wall, but I admit it looks like one. I was almost down on my belly to photograph the lanterns. Laughing

Do try it, those of you with snow. Just remember to not put a snowball on top of the lantern after the candle's lit.

This is a first for me - I have never seen anything like it. Your girls are little artistic, creative geniuses.
Wow - it really looks great - certainly heart warming. Cool

Well this is the first time I have ever heard of a snow lantern Droopy so you can tell your girls that they have educated someone today. They are well cool.

I'm so glad you all like them. Smile As long as one can make snowballs, one can make snow lanterns too. Do try them with your grandchildren, Glendann, I'm certain they'll like to make them.

Will definitely try them, Droopy! Do you use candles or battery-operated lights?
