Hello all,

I'm a huge fan of the Pink Mimosa variety, I have several in my yard here in Kentucky, they flourish and spread amazingly. I was googling Mimosa to show a friend a nice variety of pictures and came across a yellow variety that I never knew of and then an old forum post here about where I might find Yellow seed pods.

I'm glad to be here and share in everyones knowledge. Let me know if anyone can help.

I'm really just amazed that another variety exists like this. Here in Kentucky for example this tree spreads like wild fire once introduced into an area. I'm constantly giving new trees out every year to friends.

I'm glad to be a member here, I hope to bump into some pictures of success with this variety from some of you.

I havne't read enough background info to know but are the Yellow's not native to the US?

The 1st webpage that lead me to googling more mentioned them perhaps not making it here or doing well.

I'm enjoying the amount of information I'm finding here. Its a lot of fun.

As far as my user name it was the very first randomly generated password for my first internet based web account over 14 years ago. I found it very amusing and have adopted it over the years.

So Golden Mimosa is AKA Acacia baileyana is what I'm finding?

Can anyone confirm these to be the same tree species being discussed here the previously drew me to these forums? If so then Ebay has a vast supply of seeds for me.

Images seem to support this along with growth rate and maturity height etc.
