I get growth like yours undernaeath my bird table Tina. Some of the bird seed obviously takes root when the birds drop it on the ground. The best way to discover if yours is from bulbs or seeds is to carefully remove the plant from the soil and see what the roots are growing out of. I hope it's bulbs and not some stray seeds planted by your local willife. Do let us know what you discover won't you?

    I certainly will, Eileen.
Why I still think it is some sort of bulb is because the pot was indoors. But haven't seen a bulb grow like this. A mystery!! :-o

If they're oriental or asian lilies, or martagons, you won't have blooms on them for a couple of years if you planted the bulbils or seed. Good luck with them!
