Purple long leafey plant craws out of ground

    ive always wondered what this purple guys name was. I dont know much about it but i looked recently and its just sprouting out of the ground again. Heres a pic from '07.

    gonna try to take more pics this year, i think it might have another stage i will have to pay more attention..

    That's a strange one GN, haven't seen anything like that before. Will have a look in my gardening books to see if I can find it.

    A strange one indeed - maybe it's a type of hosta but I really couldn't be sure. :-?

    If it has yellow flowers then it could be Lysimachia Firecracker, but that is more brown than purple, leaf colour wise.

    It looks very similar to "Purple Queen" Reina Morada Setcreasea purpurea that I planted last year as a annual, but I just checked the plant marker and it says it is Perennial in warm weather areas. It gets very small pink blooms and spreads very fast.
