Hi I am new to this forum and looking for some advice.

My problem is that I would like to get cherry color cabinets, same color as my floor. The problem I see with this is that all the trim in my house as well as doors and closets are white. My Kitchen is a small galley style kitchen and happens to have a lot of closet doors as well the door leading to the garage. So I am concerned that the new cabinets may clash with the white closets, doors, and trim.

I am thinking though It may balance out a bit since I am lightening up the kitchen color. I was thinking possibly a very light brown. The redish-orange that is in there now really makes those white closets stand out.

So basically my questions are these.

1. Will cherry/mahogany stained cabinets work with the white closets and door?

2. What color paint would you recommend that could make it all work?

3. Should I just stick to buying new white cabinets? I really don"t want to do this.

4. Is there any other advice that you could give me. Maybe I am missing something.

As a side note, I will be getting black granite counter tops, as well as all new stainless steel appliances.

Here are some pics, and thank you so much for the help. I am sooo lost!

I guess you are moving on too fast since Sunday was a holiday and Monday was a back to work day. I was working all day yesterday. I think right now your kitchen has way too much white. If you are thinking of painting your kitchen a tan color the darker cabinets would look better than white. The closet doors could stay white if your appliances were stainless. I'm not sure the tan walls would go with the stainless though or the black counter tops. Not much help here I guess. dooley

Stainless steel
Black counter tops sound good.

Light colored cabinets like oak would look better.
I arent keen of the red wall tho.

Keep thinking ..I arent for white cabinets or doors.

I love Oak colors , or light browns
