We had an alert on the news the other week...they want people to make sure they clean their feeders and places the birds mingle because of samonela...we don't want to have all of song birds gone do we?

Every month we clean the feeders and clean up the pergola area.....please make sure you help these little birds too...

Lovely shots as always Sherry. I just love those Goldfinch's! I've noticed that the ones here are getting their summer colors back.

Sherry, did the woodpeckers make the holes in the post on the left?

I love your bird photos.

Great shots! Mine would have a red squirrel (or two) sitting on the feeders. They're eating more than the birds lately.

cajunbelle...no the woodpeckers didn't do the holes in the log...my husband did and you fill them with homemade suet to attract them.

I used to live in a cedar house in the country and the woodpeckers would peck on the house all the time..I may have told this story but one time after we had just moved there I kept hearing someone knocking at the door...I lived in a bi-level and had to walk down to get to the door. No one at the door...went back up and I heard someone knock again...walked down to the door again.. this kept up for quite a while so I quit going to the door. I figured they could ring the bell if anyone came. Later on when I was outside I saw a woodpecker pecking on the knots of the cedar siding...Made me laugh..They look for bugs on the house..
