It looks like it ate it!
Poplars are amazing - we have them lining our driveway, and I have to remove baby ones every year that will try to come up from their runners.
Maybe you should plant it someplace, as a reward for survival.

Lol Bugs I hope your neighbours can see into your garden, they'll be ringing the men in white coats
Also I would call the Guinness Book of Records people and see if the largest cutting record is now trounced.

heres an update on the largest cutting I ever taken.
Last night I was talking to a tree surgeon buddy of mine . He reckons that it will definately root. He said he used to cut poplar into 6 foot lenghts and plant them 1 foot in the ground along motorways and they would root. What will happen is that it will root around the edge and the inside will rot . Still it will be an interesting experiment

That's amazing Bugs. This will be an experiment to watch. The zombie poplar tree
You should post yearly progress reports, of course marking the date in our calendar so we all can wait anxiously all year for it

Poplars are a bit like willow then I take it? You just have to stick a twig in the ground and before you know it's rooted!!! Great for willow screens though.
