Sjoerd, watching the news tonight I couldn't believe my eyes when they showed us the assassination attempt on your Royal family. Those poor bystanders who were mowed down by the speeding car. A tragedy!

My thoughts are with you and Mrs Sjoerd. Crying or Very sad

I could hardly believe what I was seeing and hearing on the news tonight. My heart goes out to the families and friends of those killed.

I'm still in a state of disbelief. These things just don't happen. Sad So sorry about your celebration day that ended on such a sad note.

Thank you all so very much for your condolences, especially to EJ for started this thread. That was so thoughtful.
My bride and I were watchig it on the telly before going to the lottie and saw it all live.
It is so strange what happens in a person'sd head at a moment like that--surprise, shock sadness and a terrific anger all happening at once. I think that the whole country is a bit awe-struck that something like this could and did happen. It'll take a while to get over it.
We are all still waiting for the investigation to be completed and to find out the truth (or what part of the truth that we will be told) of what happened, how it could happen and why it happened.

This was such a special day for all Dutch people and the way that the day was so tragically ruined for the wounded and dead and their families...and all other citizens just leaves one a bit numb.

The kindness amd sympathy of my fellow Stew Members is reflected in this thread. It is so comforting and typical of the quality of the members here.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
