We had a cheapy plastic cover last year, it served it's purpose but by the end of a very long, totally sunny, not a cloudy day for 5 months it fell apart.
We found this one at a garage sale late last fall and got it put up yesterday just before the first of three rain storms dumped 4.25 inches of rain on us.

When there is a dry and unbusy weekend, we will be cleaning and painting the chairs and as soon as it dries out enough for the paint to dry I have a round of wood to paint for the table top. The awning has screen on all sides to help keep mosquitos and birds out.

Randy insisted that the photo had to contain a good portion of the garden too. It's all jumbled up out there because I am doing some rearranging..

And from another angle across the garden...

I am going to make some citronella candles in canning jars and make some hangers so they can hang from the center of the roof.

How cozy that looks Toni! I'd love to join you for a lemonade one sunny day!

My eye was drawn to the large turquoise blue vessel looking object in photo one. What is that, I'm wondering? You have some cool stuff in there!

It's so great to have those little spots to enjoy the garden unmolested. Good work, Toni!

Any of you find yourselves in the north Texas area, feel free to come by for a cool drink.

Thanks you all. I usually see the work waiting to be done and problems out there but tend to forget that it looks pretty durn good. Rolling Eyes

Daiseybeans, that blue ball is a hanging solar light. My oldest daughter gave it to me for Mother's Day a couple of years ago.

Perfect!! Mr. Green Just the thing for sitting outside with a good book and a cuppa Toni. I would love to have the space for something just like that here. The fact that it has screening on the sides to protect you from flying bugs makes it even more appealing.
I have a citronella burner that I put out in the summer and when it's lit it really does help keep all the biting insects at bay. I'm looking forward to seeing the table and chairs when you've finished them.

Toni, love you yard as always. You have such neat things.

I would love to stop buy (and we could go to the thrift store) and have a cool drink. I thought about it last year, When I was in Dallas to visit my DD. Unfortunately, or fortunately she bought a house in Rockwall! I can't wait to see it.

The solar light is very nice. I would love to have one that hangs. Haven't seen that type. Stew Face 2

I am like you Toni, always seeing the things that I haven't done. Your spot has a lot of personality and whimsy. I like your curved walkway too. And your plantings are so lush... I have never seen a solar light of any type but now that I know they exist, I'll keep my eye's open for them.
