One of my Phalenopsis - I have several, all in bloom
Yet another Phal.
This is a vanilla bean plant - yep, the same one where you get your vanilla flavoring! Takes 2 (male & female) & about 15 years to get one!
My Vanda is 8' tall!

I really enjoy my miniatures (I have both mini Phalenopsis and mini Vandas)
This little guy is now hanging from the curtain rod in my bathroom and doing well.
This is a mini vanda which smells like orange peels.
My beautiful catelleya.

I must take a piccie of mine. I haven't a clue what it's called though as there was no label on it when I got it.

Thanks! Post a photo and I'll see if I can identify it for you. Does it look like any of the ones I posted?

There's lots of good orchid websites out there. If you (or anyone else) is interested I'll be happy to post a few.

Eileen, thats a Phalenopsis, commonly known as a Moth Orchid - very easy to care for. I have a few (the two purple ones in the photos are Phals and I have a white one as well in my living room. Here is a link to a care sheet for them : http://www.orchidweb.org/aos/uploadedfiles/docs/culturephals.pdf

Here is a link to the North England Orchid Society: http://www.orchid.org.uk/ - I'm not sure if you're close to there or not, but I tried Embarassed If you'll google Orchid Societies and your country I'm sure you'll find lots of information.

Congrats, yours is very beautiful. I look forward to seeing what you come back with from your holdiay - keep us posted.
