Spikey Black Caterpillar ID?

    hey guys..

    saw this guy curled up outside on the path so i moved him over to a leaf on my peonies..

    was wanting to see him stretched out but when i returned he had disappeared.

    looks like he had some dull orange segments below the spikes.

    i didnt touch him with my hands as his spikes looked fierce!

    any ideas?

    We have these guys around here too. They're cute, aren't they? I have never been able to see what they turn into though.

    I think it's a Giant Leopard Moth caterpillar from what I can find on the net.
