Ok, I am really into photography and the other day I was outside taking pictures when I spotted this moth. I must say this moth really looks similar to the endangered Blackburn Sphinx moth. I would really appreciate some feedback about this moth and it's true identity. The one thing I found strange about this being a Blackburn Sphinx is that I found this moth in Alabama.

Also this was a rather large moth.

While looking into it more I think it could be one of these http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/manducasextaf.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/msextsex.htm&usg=__QvUeD9afyVSM2Siu3xTXMFU7Dtc=&h=334&w=550&sz=43&hl=en&start=3&um=1&tbnid=v9HXb9Dok_oqrM:&tbnh=81&tbnw=133&prev=/images%3Fq%3DManduca%2Bsexta%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1B3GZFB_enUS287US287%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1

I wonder if they have spread to the mainland without being found or if the two types are really close cousins.

You might contact the people who run that first sight I posted and ask them for more info.
