|
My brothers are 12 and 13 years older than me and when they were young and in Cub Scouts, they folded Moravian Stars out of pastel colored paper, coated them with parafin wax somehow and sprinkled them with glitter. They were hung on my Mom's Christmas tree every year until she passed 5 years ago. When we cleaned out her house there were only a few left and my brothers divided them up between themselves.
I would like to learn how to make them and teach my grandchildren how so that this old favorite tradition carries on in my family.
Do you know how to make them and can you tell me or better yet show me how please?
John

I found two websites with instructions for you. Do let us see your stars when you've finished them won't you?

What a great memory and idea for passing on this sweet tradition. That looks like a good challenge for sure -- I think I will try my hand at one, for fun. Good luck!

Thank you so much Eileen!
I am not a very "crafty" type person, but I will give these a try. The memories alone of my childhood Christmas trees 50 years ago will well be worth the effort of many trials and failures if it comes to that.
If I find that it works out well I may suggest them as an art class project to my grandson's teacher.
Once again, I thank you,
John

Good luck John and I hope they turn out just like the ones you remember.
