The rosehip is the round seed case left after the rose has bloomed.
That could be a poppy, but they don't grow well in my yard so I can't say for sure.

I don't think it's a poppy either. It looks like some sort of small-bloomed rose, but would like a shot of the leaves to make certain.

I think Droopy is right it sure looks like a rose as the bud beside the blooms looks like a rose bud that hasn't started opening yet.

Definately a rose of some sort. I'm no good at roses, but hopefully somebody will manage to ID it for you.
