I'm downright ANGRY!
We just planted our tomato plant and now I'm afraid the chlorine will kill it.
My mom said I didn't have to worry to much about the roses (thank god) because she said that my grandparents used to have an above ground pool and they used to empty it and some of the water would get into the flower beds and the roses thrived ten-fold!
But still...
Some people are just downright inconsiderate!
Ugh!
And to top it all off I have heat exaustion!
Anyways...
Any suggestions as to what I could do?

What inconsiderate neighbours.  Why couldn't they empty their pool into their own garden or at least ask you and your mum if it was OK to get rid of the water in yours? There's not much you can do about it now I shouldn't think. I just hope the water wasn't too chlorinted and that all your plants survive their soaking.

Well that is a bummer. Hopefully, all will be OK with your plants. They can be pretty resilient sometimes... fingers crossed. Good thing you had not already planted your seeds.

Well, enough time has gone by that you probably know whether your tomatoes were harmed. The good thing about chlorine is that it dissipates pretty quickly into the air, especially when the water spreads out into a shallow lake, as it must have done when your neighbor emptied their pool.
Where I grew up we had a lot of chlorine in our drinking water and all our seedlings were watered with that and did just fine. I'm hoping your tomatoes just consider it a "deep watering," not a drowning, and not a chlorine poisoning.
Was it a big pool? Do your nieghbors know not to do that again? If so, at least you know a good place to dispose of any rotten tomatoes this year.
