I am looking to exchange butterfly bush seeds for poppies. Mr. Green I have not been able to find the large poppies that i wants so dearly anywhere. Butterfly bush-here in Oregon-is a tiny seed, think caraway size, that is a perennial. it grows about 2 ft per year here, I have seen them as tall as 14 ft, and 6 ft wide. they have beautiful flowers on them that look similar to lilacs, and actually do attract butterflies. The foliage is a light dusty green that runs down each stalk, leaves are thin and about 3-5 inches long, unfortunately it has only a light scent, but with the profuse blooms that may be a good thing as it does not seem to attract alot of bees in my yard. mine is about 1 1/2 ft high and was started this spring in march.
