It certainly looks like a rose Poppy. To confirm an ID though it would help if you could post the foliage from the plant too.

Im sorry Eileen but the nature of my photos doesnt include the foilage, i will have to remember in future to always take an extra shot of the flower with the foilage

No matter Poppy. 
I've just been out into the garden as I seemed to recognise the flower in your photograph. I have a rose that is almost identical to the one you've shown - I knew I'd seen it somewhere before.
