I have never seen one like this and thought it was really different looking. Does anyone know what it is? I also found a chrysalis nearby and thought maybe it came from one like that. Look at its big fat body and stubby legs!

What you have is a Antheraea polyphemus (Polyphemus Moth) giant Silkmoth.
