Gardening is about enjoying the smell of things growing in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity. ~Lindley Karstens, noproblemgarden.com.

I never feel guilty about that...you should see the color of me when I'm done in the garden! Laughing

AMEN. I used to converse with a gal who was into archaeology. Her tag line was "Archaeology: Getting Dirty With Your Pants On." I always felt the same way about gardening.

Excellent quotation! I may use it from time to time.

That's a great quote.

I love getting garden dirty too. Furthermore, I love my dirty shoes and my dirty shorts and all my dirty tee shirts! And my dirty socks. When I'm in the dirt, my mind settles down and I am my truest self, I think.

Ruby, I paint roofing slates and had a request for one for a couple that were both archeologist. I came up with a picture of a dinosaur and under it said " Wecome to our digs"

I would trade any day of "house-work" for a day of
"yard-work", because in the yard, it does not seem like work at all!

Here I sit with dirt under my finger nails in my grubby "garden attire" and thinking I didn't quite finish weeding in the backyard and the front yard is a lost cause. Gosh it feels good being outside gardening.
